English Technology & Internet Vocabulary
This set covers the technology and internet words you meet every day: the devices (phone, computer, laptop), the online world (internet, website, email, app) and the actions (click, download, search, update). Learn them in short sentences, not as a bare list, so the meaning and the grammar stick together.
Level: B1. Technology words come up in almost every conversation now, from texting a friend to filling in a form online. This page gives you the core English technology and internet vocabulary, grouped by meaning so related words stick together, each with a plain definition and a short example you can copy.
By the end of this page you can…
…name the main devices, talk about the internet and apps, and use the common action verbs (click, download, search, update) in simple, natural sentences.
How this list was chosen
Every word here comes from the English frequency list (hermitdave/FrequencyWords), which ranks words by how often they appear in a large collection of everyday subtitles. From that list we kept the technology and internet words a B1 learner needs and grouped them by meaning rather than by rank, so you learn device words together and online words together. The Rank column is the word’s real position in the frequency list — a lower number means more common.
